Entering awards is a highly-effective way to boost your profile, reach new audiences and demonstrate your credibility. This week, we're chatting with Heather Marano, the Founder and Director of award-winning awards consultancy - Green Door Co.
In this conversation we discuss:
Why entering (and winning!) awards is so powerful for ambitious leaders and founders
The role of awards in your profile raising strategy
How to write a great award entry (and yes - we discuss AI and its impact on award entries)
Whether awards can help you win media opportunities
How to find the right awards to win
And more!
About Heather Marano:
Heather Marano is the Founder and Director of award-winning awards consultancy Green Door Co. She is passionate about helping businesses uncover and celebrate their stories through award wins.
Heather launched Green Door Co back in 2014 as a full service communications agency. When the first award application crossed her desk a couple years later, she recognised there was a serious gap in the market for expert awards advice and copywriting.
Since that time, Heather has written hundreds of awards submissions, secured hundreds of award wins for clients and built the business to become the leader in the Australian awards space.
In 2015, Heather was awarded a B&T 30 Under 30 Award and she’s been recognised in several awards since including the Stevie Awards for Women in Business, Small Business Champion Awards, AusMumpreneur Awards and Local Business Awards.
Heather has also served as a mentor with Humans United by Business (HUBB), supporting other business owners on their business journey. Heather holds a degree in Economic and Social Sciences with Honours from the University of Sydney. In her free time you’ll find Heather playing guitar, cooking, debating politics or playing with her two young sons.
